IPLink
WAN Routers and Bridges for Ethernet, T1/E1 Access
The IPLink line from Patton includes multiple models focused on facilitating WAN connections for organizations. The products enable an IP-based LAN to connect to and communicate over WAN links; with both bridge and router models available for plugging into Ethernet, T1/E1, X.21, or V.35 transports.
Currently available models in the IPLink line include:
- 2603, 2621, 2635: NAT capable WAN Access routers targeted to SMEs or remote offices. All includes a single, 10/100 Ethernet port (auto-sensing, built-in MDI-X) for connecting to the local network, while T1/E1 (2603), X.21 (2621), or V.35 (2635) ports provide access to the WAN circuits.
Features include support for bridge or router deployments; firewall protections (including packet filtering and DoS); DHCP; configurable FR/PPP/IP WAN protocol support; and console, Telnet, and HTTP/SNMP management options.
- 2620: A dual-port WAN router with "Drop and Insert" capabilities--i.e., any DS0 can be taken from one E1 port and switched to the other. The 2620 includes two software configurable T1/E1 ports for WAN and four 10/100 ports for LAN access.
- 2802, 2805: Managed VPN routers facilitating Ethernet-based VPN connections. The 2802/2805 features IPSec-based tunneling with AH and ESP and DES, 3DES, and AES encryption (56 to 256 bits). Both include a single 10/100 port for WAN connections; with the 2802 including a single 10/100 LAN port and the 2805 boasting a 4 port (10/100) LAN switch.
- 2803, 2821, 2835: Similar to the 2603, 2621, 2635 line described above, but with the addition of IPSec VPN features and an additional (two total) 10/100 LAN port.
- 2823: Similar to the 2802 but with an added 10BaseT port for physical and logical DMZ connections.
- 2884: A channelized Gig T1/E1 router, with the ability to terminate up to 124 PPP channels or bond the T1/E1 ports for multi-link PPP. The 2884 includes 2 or 4 software configurable T1/E1 ports and dual 10/100/1000 ports for LAN connections.
- 2888: The newest entry in the product family, a four port Inverse Multiplexer that can be used to join two Ethernet sites over bonded (multi-link PPP) T1/E1 circuits. The 2888 operates as a network bridge only (as compared to the 2884, with both bridging and routing capabilities). Four software configurable channelized T1/E1 ports are included as are a pair of 10/100/1000 ports for the LAN side.
