CoreFirst is a business transaction management platform that allows the Enterprise to view, and then manage, business transactions from both the Business and IT perspectives; providing such information as which services were consumed, by whom, how quickly they were delivered, which components participated in the service delivery, and the effect on the overall infrastructure.

CoreFirst automatically maps business services to IT infrastructure. It tracks and monitors business transactions--across all tiers, all the time--in order to create and maintain a profile of transaction activity in terms of time and resources. With CoreFirst organizations can identify and isolate performance problems as they develop, and can also prioritize transaction resource allocation based on business needs, especially under peak loads.

CoreFirst also extends transaction visibility to virtual environments. Working in conjunction with partners such as DataSynapse and Sun Microsystems, CoreFirst can be used by companies in production to add visibility across the many layers of disparate systems and applications created by virtualization.

New features in the latest CoreFirst release include:

- Can generate new reports to show CPU consumption of transactions by tier and more granular reports on transactions including the ability to monitor a single transaction for an entire day

- UI improvements, including the ability to see more activities, enlarged graphics and improved display response time
