Nucleus Kernel Recovery

Password and Data Recovery Utilities

Nucleus Data Recovery offers a line of utilities focused on the recovery of data or passwords. Among their current offerings are:

- Kernel for FAT and NTFS is a data recovery software and file undelete tool for FAT and NTFS file systems (Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003). It also includes a zip repair component that helps you repair corrupt zip files. Kernel data recovery software can recover data from formatted or corrupted partitions and hard drives.

The program allows you to view and browse the content of your damaged or formatted disk similarly as you do in Windows Explorer. It displays all deleted files and folders along with the regular ones after a complete disk scanning. The program allows you to search for files by name or mask, rename a file to be recovered and show the probability of successful recovery for each file by opening it via double-clicking it. Recovered files can be saved to any disks accessible on your system. Kernel data recovery software allows you to save the full branch of folder trees containing selected files and folders.

The software supports data recovery from all Windows file systems for hard drive and floppy drives including FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, and NTFS5.

- Kernel Recovery for Outlook Password is designed to recover lost and forgotten passwords from Microsoft Outlook Protected Personal Storage (.pst) files.

Supported versions includes Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002, Outlook 2000, and Outlook 97.

- Kernel Recovery for Word recovers Word document files using Live Preview technology. After scanning the corrupted or damaged Word documents that are recoverable are shown in the preview window, they can then be copied to a user defined location. Supported versions include Word 2003, Word XP, Word 2000, Word 97, Word 95 and Word 6.0.

- Kernel Recovery for DBF is software that uses QFSCI technology to repair corrupt or damaged dbf database files. The software repairs dbf files corrupted due to unrecognized database format, media corruption, unexpected system shutdown, or virus corruption.

Key features include: Recovers dbf table structure and data, support to repair a batch of dbf files (only single files in evaluation version), includes Live Update feature (disabled in evaluation version), creates new database files (.DBF). The vendor states that the software recovers data from .dbf files on versions of DBF database files including Foxbase, Foxpro, Visual Foxpro, Dbase III, Dbase IV, Dbase 5 for Dos, Dbase 5 for Windows, etc.
